I’m a guy 65 years old. At work, I sit in front of a computer and in meetings all day, so I really need to get regular exercise. Walking 50 miles a week helps, but that’s not enough. Group classes at The Fitness Lab in Ballard are a fun and efficient way to round out my routine. Two or three one-hour sessions a week span cardio, strength, balance, agility, core, and flexibility training. Dillon and the other trainers do a great job leading the classes, giving encouragement and helpful feedback.
My wife and I go together and keep each other motivated. I don’t like crowds, so it’s great for me that classes are small – 8-10 on weeknights, maybe 16 average on Saturday morning. Everyone in these classes is younger than I am, and most are women, but that’s fine with me. I wasn’t in great shape when I started a year ago, but the trainers helped me adapt the exercises to my fitness level, and over time I’ve improved a lot. I’ve lost 15-20 pounds and kept it off. I’ve lost about four inches around the waist, and I’m seeing muscles I didn’t know were there. Would it work for you? Like anything worthwhile, you’d have to commit yourself and stick with the program. I can’t compare The Fitness Lab to similar programs because I only have experience of this one, but it has worked for me and I recommend it highly. Try it out!
