4 Tips for Holiday Parties

4 Tips for Holiday Parties

December 20, 2016 by Dillon

Yep, it’s party time. When the holidays roll around someone, somewhere (maybe you) is rolling out the welcome wagon and hosting a shindig. I came up with 4 tips to help you cruise through the holiday season.

1. Schedule in your workouts like you would any holiday party.

Battle holiday sweets and treats by keeping up with your workouts! It does not matter how busy you are, always remember this fit tip: “you make the time to do the things you want to do”. Stick to your workout schedule and enjoy the holidays without gaining those extra few pounds.

2. Never go to a party hungry.

Parties are filled with empty calories, mindless nibbling and plenty of drinks. If you are hungry, believe me it is downhill from the start my friends. Plan to eat a meal before heading out for a night on the town, your office party or holiday gathering.

3. Be the life of the party.

This doesn’t mean doing keg stands with the host. Alcohol is a killer so choose your beverage wisely. A glass of champagne at 80 calories a glass. Make your first drink at the event a glass of sparkling water or non-alcoholic drink. Having a beverage in hand goes a long way to keeping your host happy. If there’s a dance floor, get out there and burn some extra calories.

4. Stay hydrated.

Water fills you up and fires up your metabolism. This one’s a no brainer: drink water!

Enjoy the holidays. It’s a beautiful time of the year. Remember, you’re always in control of your destiny. Enjoy your time with family and friends.
