Whether you’re just getting started in a workout routine, or you’ve been coming to TFL for a while, it’s good every now and then to step back and take a look at your workouts and make sure that your are doing what’s best for your body right now. What was good for you at this time last year may look different today. Here are some questions you can ask yourself:
-
What are my fitness goals?
-
Am I gaining strength?
-
Do I have a good understanding of basic compound movements such as a lunge, squat, and push-up?
-
How long has it been since I lifted weights or increased them?
-
Am I being challenged enough?
Here are the basics of small group training and team training:
Small Group Training:
Small Group Training is a fantastic workout for everyone! These classes top out at 4 people per 1 trainer, which means you get plenty of one on one attention – (perfect if you are learning new movement patterns). We incorporate foam rolling, core, and glute activation, plus hip mobility and back strengthening exercises. These fundamental exercises are especially important for anyone new to training, for those recovering from an injury, and for avid exercisers. We focus on improving balance, core strength, flexibility and overall strength so your body can move better. We emphasise proper form and technique so that you so that your workouts are as safe and effective as possible. We work to tailor our programs for you to reach your personal goals. Small group classes are ideal for anyone who prefers more personalized training. They are also excellent to prepare you for the rigors of team training.
Team Training:
Team Training combines full-body strength training, agility drills, and core movements designed to improve your speed, balance, strength, and endurance. The group dynamic brings great energy and is so much fun you may just forget you are working out. We always incorporate a dynamic warm up and cool down to ensure the safest and most effective workout possible. We can always modify specific movements for individuals who have a nagging injury. We also provide progressions so that when you are ready you can up the intensity a bit! These larger groups are great for those who are familiar with the weight room and have at least a moderate fitness level.
