Q/A with Mary
What are some of your favorite things to do?
Play with my friends, hostess awesome parties, slay at putt-putt, play dress-up, love on my cats, snorkel with sea turtles, smoke candy cigarettes + try out new recipes.
What are your favorite places to eat?
Ocho in Ballard and Frank’s Oyster House & Champagne Parlor in Wedgewood.
When did you start training at TFL and why?
I was looking for a new workout home in April 2018 and fell in love with TFL’s welcoming, supportive, friendly no-BS vibe.
What are some health and fitness goals you have achieved since joining TFL?
TFL has been a wonderful game-changer for both my mental and physical health. Two months into my membership, my marriage/20-year relationship suddenly exploded, leaving me utterly shocked and shattered. TFL was my constant, caring companion through it all — a place I could swap my worries for self-care and feel buoyed by the smiles of such good peeps. (Even though you had no idea what I was going through. Thank you, dear ones.) Nearly a year later, I feel transformed. I believe in me in a way I haven’t for years. My physical and mental games are ON and I’m excited for all of the awesomeness ahead.
What is a favorite quote that you live by?
“None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after-thought. Eat the delicious food. Walk in the sunshine. Jump in the ocean. Say the truth you’re carrying in your heart like hidden treasure. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.” — Nanea Hoffman
